Other Programs
The
following programs may provide benefits to you if you qualify. Each
program has the eligibility requirements set by state or federal
law. As a WIC participant, you may be eligible for these programs.

for more information on how to apply for these and other programs:

Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Financial
aid is provided to needy families with children who do not
have enough money to meet their basic need for food, clothing,
and shelter. In Florida, TANF is administered under the Work
and Gain economic Self-sufficiency (WAGES) program. Call your
local Department of Children and Families Service Center for
more information.

Medicaid
Medicaid
helps people get the medical care they need. If you are having
trouble paying for necessary medical care, maybe Medicaid can
help. Your income and other facts decide if you can get this
help. |

Child
Support Enforcement Program (CSE)
Helps
find missing parents and orders these parents to provide child
support. For more information or help, call 1-800-622-5437 |

Food
Stamp Program
Food
Stamp benefits assist in providing food to those who do not
have enough money to buy nutritious foods to keep healthy. Call
your local Food Stamp Office for more information. |

Immunization
Program
The
WIC office recommends that all infants and children be protected
against diseases through immunization. Our county health department
provides free shots to protect children from certain diseases.
Bring the immunization record for each child every time you
come to the WIC clinic. |

Important
Health Informatioin
Avoid
using tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. These substances can
be harmful to you, to your children, and to your unborn baby
(if you are pregnant). If you need help stopping or reducing
your use of tobacco, alcohol or other drugs, your health care
provider or WIC clinic staff can tell you where to get help. |
