Infant
Formula
WIC infants who are not completely breastfed may receive the
brand of infant formula printed on the front of the WIC check.
No low iron formula.

WIC
participants may select either Concentrated Liquid or
Powder.
|
The WIC
brands of infant formula are shown above. These brands meet
the same nutrition requirements as all other standard infant
formulas. It's recommended that a milk-base formula be given
to all healthy infants who are not breastfed or who are partially
breastfed. A soy-based formula may be used instead of a milk-based
formula when recommended by the infant's health care provider.
By using
the WIC brands instead of other brands of formula, WIC is
able to save money. The money will be used to provide services
to more of Florida's WIC-eligible women, infants, and children.
If you
have questions about feeding your infant or if your baby has
a medical problem that requiers a special formula, talk with
your infant's health care provider and a WIC nutritionist.
Note:
Carnation ® Follow-Up Formulas is allowed after
the infant turns 6 months and is eating a variety of foods.
