How WIC Works

Who is Eligible?

WIC is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed.

How do I apply?

Call 352-392-4493, ext. 1 (local) or 1-800-4WICKID (1-800-494-2543)
for the North Central Florida WIC Project; which includes Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Suwannee Sumter and Union counties.

For any other county in the state call Tallahassee at 1-800-342-3556

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring proof of current address and income, and identification. You can use the check list on this website to help you.
